German Fish Food Company sera® Goes Flexible and Resealable to Refresh KOI Brand
Zip-Pak announced that German fish food company sera® has revamped its sera® KOI Professional brand fish food by switching from rigid to resealable flexible stand-up pouch packaging. A press-to-close zipper on each package provides convenience and ease-of-use to store unfinished portions of the premium food pellets in original packaging, without the need for transferring into other storage options. Sera purchased a new horizontal/form/fill/seal machine from HDG to produce the resealable stand-up pouches.
“Sera KOI Professional is sold in multi-portion size bags,so having a resealable zipper makes it very convenient forusers to store remaining product and keep it fresh,” said Guido Burgsmüller, head of sales at HDG. “Not only is the new packaging functional, it also stands out on retail shelves, brightly displaying the serabrand name for maximum exposure at point-of-sale.Koi fish are very expensive, costing as much as thousands of dollars each, and require premium food. Sera decided to launch new packaging not only to better reflect the high quality and value of the KOI Professional brand but also to provide customers with a newlevel of storage convenience.
Compared with the brand’s previous box packaging, the new resealable stand-up pouch makes it easy for consumers of all ages to store leftover pellets while locking-in freshness and flavors.
