To quantify the benefits of resealable flexible packaging over rigid alternatives, we recently commissioned Franklin Associates to conduct life cycle inventories (LCI) for our core industries and new package solutions. The research confirms that resealable flexible packaging emits less greenhouse gas, reduces solid waste, and improves the product-to-package ratio.

Zip-Pak technology supports sustainability in several areas:
Package-to-product ratios
- are based on a comparison of the weight of a package as compared to the weight or quantity of product being delivered. Zip-Pak designs increase package utilization to help boost your product-to-package ratio.
Greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions
- result from the manufacture of packaging material. Thin, light-weight plastic films with resealable closures have significantly lower GHG emissions when compared to rigid packaging alternatives.
Cube utilization
- affects the amount of packaging as well as transportation of the packaged product. Many resealable flexible package styles result in less packaging, enabling efficient space utilization for transportation. More packages can fit on a pallet, driving more efficient transportation.
