Betta Foods, Australia’s leading manufacturer of specialty liquorice confectionary products, wanted to differentiate its brand at the point of purchase and make it stand out every time a consumer interacted with the product—to capture the all important first and second moments of truth.
Zip-Pak resealable flexible packaging slider solution:
Betta Foods turned to packaging machinery supplier Propac Industrial Pty. Ltd. to add Zip-Pak Press-to-Close™ zippers on polypropylene laminated film pillow pouches and stand-up gusseted bags. They commissioned a new form/fill/seal (F/F/S) machine fitted with a Zip-Pak exclusive transverse-direction zipper applicator that reduced changeovers to less than an hour.
Resealable zipper packaging is uncommon in Australia’s confectionery market, so Zip-Pak Press-to-Close technology helped capture first moment of truth—the few seconds in which consumers make their selection. Plus the new resealable package captured second moment of truth—the convenience and freshness that consumers experience every time they use the product.
